Reflection on the relationship between human beings and AI. how these texts work in terms of data/narrative as they engage with certain intended audiences, identify and expand on a claim that one or both text is making about our relationship with AI, or tie the rise of AI to the umbrella course topic: the Anthropocene was discussed.
The article “superintelligent, amrol and out of control” published by toby ord described the ultimate possibilities and ability of AI taking over mankind. The more advanced the technology the more work can be done with less time compared to humans. Although, it can be an end to natural spices. “Humanity is currently in control of its own fate. We can choose our future. The same is not true for chimpanzees, blackbirds, or any other of Earth’s species”. Another thing to concern is the AI builds its behavior from early experiences and stimuli, and how these are curated and delivered. When it starts to understand language, expression and its own thinking, emotions and feels just like it shows on the video it may go out of control. They will seek the purpose of their life just like human beings. If they are not treated based on their expectation such as they are created to serve the humans but what they will get as a reward or in general. Nothing who has live work one sided. Nevertheless, it sounds impossible even in 100 years. An AI can be helpful but it can never replace the human mind because remember they are created by humans. In addition, AI could be a dangerous harm to the mother earth.
A piece of science journalism about COVID-19 or other outbreaks of infectious disease since the start of the pandemic . I find this piece is interesting or relevant to the topic from your disciplinary perspective within the sciences.
When I searched about other outbreaks of infectious disease since the start of the pandemic, I found out that the amount of viruses increasing since the past years are responsible for the current COVID-19.According to the article “infection disease threats; a rebound of reliance” published by health affair.org in January 21, 2021 “Emerging infectious diseases have been increasing in frequency during the past five decades. These include recurring outbreaks caused by influenza and Ebola viruses; diseases that have dramatically increased their range and impact such as Chikungunya and Zika viruses; and outbreaks caused by novel pathogens (so-called Disease X), such as severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus-1 (SARS-CoV-1) in 2002 and SARS-CoV-2 in 2019–20, the virus responsible for the current corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic”. I found this piece interesting because before corona virus nobody took those other viruses seriously. Being hygiene and maintaining mask, distance, and hand sanitizer was always important to stay healthy. Although, we humans didn’t take it as a consideration as part of our daily life because of not going through anything like COVID-19. Now I see how caution everyone is and careful about staying hygiene.

Since surged across the world in the past several months, scientists and scientific organizations have been sharing their recommendations with the public over various media and their guidelines have been received with varying degrees of enthusiasm regarding such key topics as mask-wearing, social distancing and economic policy, and vaccination. Some people point to inconsistencies from one week to the next regarding these guidelines. Evaluate this tension between the public and health professionals and offer some solutions to what can be described, at times, as a lack of trust between the two.
At the beginning of the pandemic when it only occurred in China and got exposed to the world as a headline news everyone was in such a tension . Although, they weren’t still aware that it could go world wide. I remember I was in school that day. We had to join an important assembly based on this coronavirus. The New York city mayor was already aware that several students got infected by the virus within the city and still kept the school open. After when everything went to lock down the pressure from the socialist regime wasn’t strong enough for general people to be cautious. When the news spread out everywhere and the amount of people dying on average was increasing that’s when general people came to their senses . Unlike Vietnam, if they were prepared for this before it went wild, general people would be in a better place. Vietnam worked as a team. Their government announced lock down right after the virus news was spreaded. They guard the general people about how to stay hygiene, to wear masks, maintain social distance, and not to go outside without any emergency. As of this result they had no death due to coronavirus. However, Some people made this a sarcastic joke because of all the political drama especially in the US.The US government was more aware of its economy than the people .Otherwise they would have closed the travel agency, organization, work, school right after they heard about this news. When more people were being infected and a lot of people dying the public lost their hope on health professionals. Public prospective health professionals were killing the patent in purpose or not treating them best because of pressure from the government, believing that if they live they will spread the virus more. Some public don’t understand the situation health professionals went through and are still going through. Yet the health professionals and social workers tried their best to guard everyone how to stay safe and caution from this virus. I believe the tension between health professionals and the public was caused by the government. Because we don’t know what’s going on inside that white house or between the US social regime.
